Dr. ScheerDr. Brick Scheer
Dr. Brick Scheer is a third-generation dentist, following in his grandfather’s and father’s footsteps. Dr. Scheer graduated from Washington University School of Dental Medicine, located in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1982. Prior to dental school, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Wichita State University in 1978. He is a native of Wichita, graduating from Wichita Collegiate High School at the age of 16.

Since graduating from dental school, Dr. Scheer has been a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Academy of General Dentistry, Kansas Dental Association (KDA), and Wichita District Dental Society (WDDS). He has held many leadership positions within these organizations, including president of the WDDS, chairman of the Workforce Issues committee of the KDA, delegate to the House of the KDA, and, most recently, a lobbying team member the of the ADA in Washington, DC. In 2008, he was honored by being invited to become a fellow in the prestigious International College of Dentists. He has been a volunteer professor at Indiana University School of Dentistry and a clinical instructor at the Wichita State University Dental Hygiene School. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Delta Dental of Kansas.

Dr. Scheer is also active in his community, having served two terms as president of the local Kiwanis club. He is an usher and occasional choir member of First Evangelical Free Church, as well as a past president of HopeNet, a local agency helping individuals and families restore dignity and order to their lives.

Dr. Scheer met his beautiful wife, Shelley, while attending dental school in St. Louis. Their son, Brandon, earned a degree in Chemistry from Wichita State University, then graduated with honors from Indiana University School of Dentistry, and completed his formal education with a masters in Orthodontics from the University of Colorado. Their daughter, Casey, attended Butler County Community College and then started working in Dr. Scheer’s office as a dental assistant. She is currently the marketing coordinator at Scheer Dentistry.

Dr. Scheer enjoys working out (he has a gym in the basement of the office), water skiing, snow skiing, playing basketball and softball, participating in Bible studies, listening to music, cooking, and doing anything related the Shockers!

The Scheer family has been providing dental services for over 100 years, and Dr. Scheer draws on this vast experience to create beautiful smiles and durable restorations with the ultimate goal of keeping teeth a life time. Dr. Scheer loves his work and hopes to work into his eighties!
